In this course I take students out of the classroom, inserting them into a globally collaborative environment similar to an ad agency or design firm. Students explore the intricacies of dialogue interlocking features of a product/service and the needs of an intended audience. Exposing them to the creative discourse amongst art directors, designers and copywriters, I push students to cultivate an educated point of view, aiding them in designing multi-channel solutions for a range of scenarios.

A strategic intermediary amongst key stakeholders, I am accountable for aligning marketing, design, editorial,and customer service teams on communication flows and work plans for 29 markets. Maintaining strategic roadmaps and drafting projects proposals, I conceptualize appropriate metrics, KPIs and dashboards to interpret the performance outcome of initiatives. Alongside the technical program manager, I also define product requirements through user stories furthering customer prospecting, acquisition and retention efforts.

Fully responsible for executing digital campaigns, native placement and sponsored promotions, I conceptualized revenue-generating ideas which were later transformed into persuasive sales material. Joining forces with marketers, designers and programmers, I established cross-media ideas and products that satisfied the client’s key objectives. Implementing numerous CRM strategies, I fostered the growth of core clients and fans through distinct channels. Additionally, I contributed to internal brainstorm sessions, articulating viewpoints on creative concepts.

Identifying key objectives and requirements for a multitude of digital projects, I generated websites and promotions integrating them with custom videos, sweepstakes, blogger capabilities and social media widgets. Clearly communicating the needs of the business and creative departments, I ensured a satisfactory outcome for all parties involved. Responsible for the digital design and production efforts for Essence.com, Essencemusicfestival.com as well as partner microsites, I delivered solutions that fit the needs of internal teams and clients alike. Supervising the work flow and schedule of vendors and freelancers, I delivered creative strategies under tight budget and time constraints. Additionally, I collaborated with marketing managers to produce proposals and presentations for a number of accounts.

Coordinating with various departments on integrated marketing projects, I outlined creatives for editorial and marketing packages, advertising campaigns, special events, newsletter blasts and more. I also provided art direction to a freelance designer team, aligning them with the company’s brand guidelines and messaging.

Understanding Joel Godard’s aims, I conceptualized and produced the design for his website and brand. In addition, I created an integrated marketing and brand strategy that repositioned him to agents, fans and television talent scouts.

Collaborating with the editorial and production staff, I managed content organization, creation and style flow on various channel and home pages. Using several CMS platforms, I built out various media types such as galleries, quizzes and polls, and ensured pages were SEO-optimized. Post production included analyzing site metrics to gauge which layouts produced the highest engagement and optimizing accordingly.
